Doonya Dance & Fitness


Doonya is the ACE-approved, full body, cardio and strength building workout that helps you find your inner Bollywood star! Founders Priya Pandya and Kajal Desai created a program where you use sexy hip shaking, sensuous hand intricacies and powerful footwork of Indian dance that burns up to 800 calories! In Bollywood, the glutes are tight, biceps are bulging and you work everything from your fingers to your calves to your core. Doonya’s intense classical conditioning program is one of hour of sweaty escapism where you leave the real world behind and live in the fantastical world of Bollywood. After every class, you’ll leave smiling and wanting more.

 


Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones.  The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body-especially the main channel, the spine-so that energy can flow freely.
 
      * Gentle Hatha Yoga can be as dynamic as some of the more vibrant styles of yoga, yet is gentle on the body. Classes are multi-level and do not assume prior Yoga experience.  They include breathing techniques, warm ups and basic postures to increase mind-body connection, self awareness and self confidence.
 
      * Revitalizing Yoga  is a more invigorating form of Hatha Yoga. Postures are linked in a flow and provide some aerobic components while also improving strength and coordination. The classes assume participant begins with a certain degree of strength and endurance.
 

 

Hit It!® Kickboxing is a fusion of nightlife and Kickboxing/Boxing/Tae-Kwon-Do producing an explosive hour of fun. The workout with fast musical rhythms is designed for intense cardiovascular conditioning that aims to reshape the arms, legs, glutes and abdominal muscles and designed for all ages and fitness levels. This fast-paced class will have everyone punching, kicking and thumping to the latest hip-hop sets and hot dances mixes in a party-like atmosphere.

Pound is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 600 and 900 calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music!

Through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighted drumsticks, called Ripstix™, you'll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, Pounding off pounds as each song flies by. Rock, rap, dubstep, pop and old school music fuse to create the Poundtrack series, which is hand-selected by music enthusiasts, drummers and POUND founders Kirsten Potenza and Cristina Peerenboom.

VINYASA YOGA

Vinyasa Yoga is connecting the movement of breath with physical postures (asanas). This coordination allows the students to remain within the present moment. Taught with alignment, breathe and modification cues, vinyasa class will be sure to help students increase muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and reduce levels of stress. 

 

 

Zumba® – When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. Zumba® Toning Zumba® Toning  –  When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, glutes and thighs. TAI CHI/QIGONG 

 Literally "Life Energy Cultivation" is a practice of aligning movement, breath, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. With roots in Chinese medicinephilosophy, and martial arts, Qigong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi (chi) or what has been translated as "life energy". Heal yourself through movement and standing meditation as we learn to dig deeper and balance our Chi.

ProFIT Club: Shhh is my brain child. There aren't any complex moves, everything is geared toward making you feel sexy while you sweat. The music selection goes from These Boots Are Made For Walking up to some hits for today. It's a class to have fun, be sexy and flirty while trimming and toning your core.
Guest_1967: What is the level of coordination, strength, etc for the Shhh class? Is this ideal for someone new to working out etc? Or is it a more complex class?

ProFIT Club: Total Body Sculpt we warm with cardio for 7-8mins. than go to isolated exercise using hand weights, our natural body weight, the stability ball and floor work. There has been between 1-2 people there, so we've considered it a personal training session :D more than happy for you to come and join us.

ProFIT Club: It's actually unlimited visits for the month. You go to as many classes as you want during the month. Covers all classes except the Bellydance class and if there is a specialized event such as a Zumbathon.

ProFIT Club: There are no videos of Shhh as I have newly created it. We are doing exercise moves with a flirty edge to it, like a little extra hip and twist to it nothing to over the top.
ProFIT Club: Total body sculpt we are doing a litle cardio in the beginning, then using the hand weights to real tone and shape our arms, legs and abs as well as other weight bearing exercises.
